What is May Intersession?

May Intersession is defined as special session that begins after spring commencement, but prior to the end of the official academic calendar. Courses must end no later than June 30. Courses are accelerated and may vary in length from three to six weeks.

Who can attend May Intersession?

May Intersession is open to all CSUDH students, prospective students, students from other colleges and universities, and interested individuals from the community. There is no separate application or admission process required. Please note that if you are not already a CSUDH student, registration in a May Intersession course does not constitute admission to the University.

Can I attend May Intersession if I am a high school student?

High school students are welcome to attend as long as an official Letter of Recommendation from the high school principal or counselor accompanies the registration.

Will May Intersession courses count toward my degree?

May Intersession courses are regular University courses and carry residence credit; i.e, May Intersession courses may be used for your degree.

How many courses may I take in the May Intersession?

We recommend that students take no more than the equivalent of one unit per week with a maximum of six units for the entire May Intersession.

What happens if I don't see the course I need? Is it possible for more sections of a course to open?

Schedules are subject to updates regularly; please check the site and MyCSUDH frequently for updates. If you don't see a class offered that you would like to take, please contact the College of Continuing and Professional Education via email at learn@jiejuzhongxin.com.

May I count May Intersession courses toward spring graduation?

No. Units earned in the May Intersession may be used toward the Summer graduation date. Contact your academic advisor for more information.

How do I register for the May Intersession?

All registration options are available for CSUDH students: my.jiejuzhongxin.com, mail, telephone, and in person. If you have never attended CSUDH before, you may register by mail, telephone, or in person.

How much does May Intersession cost?

The May Intersession is separate from the regular Spring semester and/or Summer terms, and students must pay additional fees. Please consult the May Intersession courses page for current fees.

Is Financial Aid available?

Financial aid may be available for students depending upon their remaining eligibility. Students should contact the Financial Aid Office in Welch Hall B260 at 310-243-3691.

Can I drop my classes and receive a refund?

Students who drop a class by May 17, 2024 (11:59 p.m.) will receive a 100% refund less $10 processing fee. Please refer to the approved College refund policy for information concerning drops which occur after classes have started.
