Humanities M.A. (HUX)

Since 1974, the CSUDH distance learning Master of Arts in Humanities, known as HUX, has served tens of thousands of students in all 50 states and more than 60 countries around the world.

Now, HUX is launching a new phase...

The program has long been a vital academic stepping stone and educational lifeline for incarcerated students. To continue that mission, CSUDH has now relaunched the HUX degree as of Fall 2023 as a program designed specifically for confined learners.

The Master of Arts in the Humanities (HUX) program allows self-motivated learners to undertake an advanced study of the Humanities according to their intellectual interests. The breadth of understanding you will gain of western and non-western contributions to the humanities will enrich your life as it expands your career opportunities.
